Grainfather Top / Bottom Perforated Plate Seal#151

The two seals do not last very long and are a nightmare to install - especially when a little bit old i.e. they stretch and are a terrible choice. The bottom plate needs to be modified so as to be tighter fitting and not need the silicone seal. I would be happy to pay for a replacement plate if one could be offered for sale

I agree, the silicon seals are very fiddly and it is hit and miss if they will stay on even when using careful angles when inserting and using either grain dust or liquid as a lubricant. The seals are so narrow. Perhaps making the silicon seal ‘channel’ deeper might allow them to hang on to the rim better?

decrease the size of the grill plate and increase the gasket size make it beefer and more durable…

I believe that the new GF has a rolled edge on their plates, why not an upgrade for the G30…would solve all the problems
