Share Brews with multiple accounts#216

As me and a friend is brewing together we end up creating one brew in one account and another in the other accounts, end result is mismatching notes and fermentation values. It would be great being able to start a brew and invite another user so that the brew will also be available for that user.

Hi Toomas, thank you for suggesting this feature. We will consider allowing shared brew sessions in the next feature planning meeting.
But meanwhile, would it be possible for you and your friend to create a shared grainfather account? If you and your friend use the same account, you can carry out the shared brew session there because we allow for accounts to be logged in on multiple devices at the same time.

Hi Shiva, I think we will continue using 2 accounts until we can share as this also works and also as he has created some of the recepies and I have create some we need to be able to modify all recepies.

I see. Do you have any specific feature set in mind when sharing recipies and brew sessions? It will be helpful to know what the sharing experience might work like according to you.

For recipies: Maybe a button like below, when clicked you will be able to choose a user account to share the recipie with and then also say if person should be able to edit the recipie or not. After this the recipie would be available under recepies as any other recepie for both users.
If someone edits recepie it would be visible by both users.

For brews: When starting a brew you should be able to choose an account that you want to invite to the brew. When person has accepted the brew would be available as any other brew under both accounts brews. If some one edits the brew it would be visible for both persons brews.

Thank you for clearly defining the expectations, I will flush this out a bit more and present it to the team. Will keep you posted on how it goes :)

It would be great for mates to be able to at least follow a brew session. For instance, when you share the brew session with another grainfather user, it shows up in the Brews screen. All that works be needed is a “followed” filter so you can filter out your personal sessions from followed sessions.
