Kettle Sour Steps#222

Please allow more steps in the brew day to cool/warm/boil at different points. After mash/sparging, I need to boil my kettle sour for 5 minutes and then I cool it down to kettle sour for a few days. At which point, I would actually start my 60 minute boil and hop addition.

Yes I’ve been wondering how the Grainfather recipe allows addition boil steps. I’m glad I’m not alone

Based on my first attempt with using a grainfather verses big pots and pan. I think the fans of making Kettle sour would really be impressed with having a logical and intuitive way pf accommodating additional boil steps between the grainfather app and BT controller. Ie the recipe already allows for pasturize at close to boiking after sparging which is perfect. I then had to manually set a target of around 37 deg c for the 2 day acid rest which I also ended going through a cooling step to get it to 36. After which The recipe should go back up to boiling. Looking at the recipe setup I don’t see a section for setting “the boil”. If it had the same as the other categories then in addition to the normal 60 min boil you could set a second pre hop addition boil or even cool down step. Just a thought
