G70 integration with external applications (Brewfather, Home Assistant, Python, ...)#281

L

It would be great to have some kind of integration for the Grainfather WiFi controller.
It could be an API, a web interface, a Python library or even a direct protocol like Modbus or something like that.
In that way, we could operate the device via an external web service like Brewfather or even with a home automation system, like Home Assistant.

Briefly, I think it could be useful to get (at least) the current mash temperature and the ability to set the target temperature.

Yes! Grainfather needs to realize that open protocols are important for the usability of their products. I would love to have full integration with all their products using API/MQTT so I can use it with brewfather and home assistant.

Yes! Even if it were only to see if the unit is currently mashing, boiling, or even a ‘brewing’ ‘not brewing’ status. I’d also love to be able to create a sensor showing the last batch name I brewed.

I’ve done the integration (initial version) for Home Assistant. You can install it through HACS https://github.com/fidley/grainfather_integration.
