YOUR APP IS BROKEN - NO BOIL STAGE#51

A

I am in the middle of a brew, and there is literally no boil stage. It skipped straight to whirlpool.

COME ON YOU IDIOTS. FIX YOUR SOFTWARE.

I am now scrabbling around adjusting stuff by hand.

NOT FIT FOR PURPOSE. FIX IT.

I am so annoyed right now it’s just not true.

Go back to the old app until you have fixed all the errors with this one. You are ruining your good reputation.

Sack your coders. They are idiots.

Thanks

You know what really gets me. Is that I paid £600 for your kit. Your original app worked perfectly well.

Now you have just decided that you would change it, for some reason, and it doesn’t even get the basics of a brew day right.

You should be hanging your heads in shame. Really.

Can I have my £80 for a ruined brew back then? Who do I send the invoice to?

Who do I get my full refund for the Grainfather from?

Not at all impressed. You’ve broken your own product.

Hi Ash, As previously mentioned, the official support channel is appsupport@grainfather.com. Since this is not an official support channel, any queries or bug reports posted here may take considerably longer to get noticed and responded to.

I do see that you have logged numerous problems here and we would like to help resolve them so if you could please email us your contact details, our team lead will directly contact you to assist.

We will be closing all threads on this platform that aren’t related to future development feature suggestions and improvements so it remains helpful to those who are using it for this intended purpose. Thank you.

I sympathise fully with Ash - Having done a few brews since the update each one suffered similar issues. Yes there are manual work arounds but that is not why I spent £2000 on the full set up.

Frankly it’s a bit insulting to suggest this is the wrong platform for what is, in essence, a valid suggestion for improvement: go back to the old working app.

Or at the very least provide this as an option for people who want to make beer and use the system for it’s intended purpose.

just use the email support ash…unless you are some sort of retard this is just not the place for you to err your views…unless like me you thought it might. however this is only seen by developers of the app. And even then, so you might comment on how good it is and how to best carry it on in the future. Please could you add some appropriate steps during your boil or first wort or whatever it is and just get with the program please…and then let me know how you did it?
…awesome
Thanks

this app sucks, no sparge or boil or chill categories. no wonder you claim you can brew in 4 hours. Hey, you can just buy a six pack it’s quicker.

Yeah I don’t use it anymore. I just go manual brewing cos I can’t trust it. The fact there’s no user guide, that they’re beta testing their product on unwitting customers and the support isn’t transparent…ie an email address, makes it really hard for me to trust this whole space.

I want to see them implement the old version of the app and carry on with the beta by asking a few persons to assist in sorting these problems out… not that they really need to, they just need to brew with their app to identify issues really.

I want to use a credible user guide. Something I can follow 1 2 3 style.

I just want to brew beer actually, rather than whinge and complain. I just want a usable app that says what it does on the tin. I want it to interface with the brewer and make beer. I want to know what parts of the system are automatically transposed ie the mash heat stage etc.

I really want to rave good about this system, but honestly my advice to anyone looking to purchase this brewer would be to hold off for 6 months to a year untill the software is sorted.

Just to be clear, I am 100% satisfied with my manual GF. I was a garage brewer for 8 years and going electric on my apt. patio works for me. But I agree with Jacob - I don’t want anything to come between me and the brewing. I thought this app might be a way to record my recipes, but I’m going back to pencil and paper. 142 brews, 50 of them with the GF and going strong. Reinheitsgebot!

also connect is only for the brew unit, what about the fermener and the sparge water tank would be nice to have all these components where managed by the connect tool….

Update! 2023. I upgraded to a new G30 with the Bluetooth contol a couple of years ago, just did brew #213. I love my GF! Every time I brew I learn something, with the GF I can make adjustments, tweak the set up, screw up and keep on brewing. If I really screw up, I just go manual (which doesn’t happen often). Nothing beats the GF system for homebrewing, I even sold my old unit for a couple hundred dollars, so they have resale value. All grain bottle condition…Reinheitsgebot!
