Unless I’m blind there is no button to take you out of edit mode of a recipe or brew session.. The “Save” button doesn’t exit which is OK in itself but then there needs to be some other way. I edit the URL in the browser and remove the /edit part but there should be a button for it.

Hi SP. Thanks for the feedback. Currently you can navigate back to the recipe after saving by clicking the back button on your browser. However, we are taking your feedback into consideration. Thank you.
Hi @S P ,
I’m looking at this currently and have a question.
Do you want to switch back to the view page to purely exit the edit mode? Or do you want to exit the edit mode because you prefer the layout of ingredients on the view page?
We can add a button to take you back to the view page, however if it is because you prefer the layout on the view page then that’s more the problem that we should address.
Look forward to hearing your response!
Hi James,
I would say it’s more the second actually. I prefer the more compact layout of the view page. Exiting edit mode does however also makes sure I don’t accidentally change something
Thanks for the response @S P.
We deployed an update to the web today to bring a “one row” layout to ingredients in edit mode.
We are aware that when ingredient names or values are a bit longer, they get cut off by the input, however if you just hover over the value it will show you the full version - example attached.
At this point, we see the trade off for getting a “one row” layout is worth this minor inconvenience - especially given the values are fully viewable by hovering, or checking the recipe out in “View” mode.
Check it out, and let us know what you think of the new layout. If you have any suggestions for further tweaks or improvements to this layout then I’d love to hear them.
I’ll look to still add an action button to switch back to “View” mode so you can easily get back to a non-editable version of the recipe where none of the ingredient values are unnecessarily cut off due to constraints around the layout.
Thanks!
Just an update - we’ve now released an update to the web with the button you have requested.
When you’re in “edit” mode, there will be a button in the action bar to “close” - which we feel is the best way to semantically represent what this button does (feel free to suggest a better alternative if you don’t like this).
Clicking the “Close” button from within the action bar will take you out of “edit” mode and put you into “view” mode.
Thanks!
