When I want to use the whirlpoolhop, I can only set the time that the wort is in the kettle. I used to cool the wort down to 70 degrees before adding the hop so the bitterness is a lot less than when you add the hops directly after cooking at 100 degrees.
Can you change this in the programm/app?
Hi @John Leijten,
If I understand correctly, you want a way to specify a tempertature, rather than a time for when your whirlpool hops should be added?
Is this correct?
Thanks,

the best thing would be if both can; I want to chill the wort below 70 degrees before adding the whirlpoolhop, the bitterness will be less while the aroma’s will bee more…

James, procedurally, we’d want to cool the wort to some temp. after flameout, add the hopstand hops, then let it stand for some period while maintaining that temperature, or letting the temperature cool naturally.
I need this too. Hop stand time AND temperature.

Time, Temp and IBU’s calculation for the temprature in hopstand would be much appriciated.

Actually the hopstand considers hops are added directly afetr boil. Adding an option on when hops are added would be great.
In my case, I wait for the targeted hopstand temperature. Add the hops, keep the temperature for the specified time. And finally cool everything.
Hence actuallay the total mIBU calculation is higher than expected, the bump on the graph attached doesn’t match with reality.
I would love that feature as well. Specify the temp for whirlpool additions.
On the G30, the pieces are there, just needs a little extra app help.
I let the wort cool to my whirlpool addition temp before tapping “start timer” in the app.
After pressing “start timer”, I press the “heat” button on the controller. This puts the app/device into manual mode, but the target temperature is initially 100 degrees (still holding there from the boil), so it is immediately heating at 100% trying to get it back to a boil.
So I go to the app, and tap down the target temp to what I actually want for the whirlpool.
Now the grainfather keeps the wort at my desired temp through the whirlpool timer.
It would be great if this happened automatically, when I press “start timer” for the whirlpool stage:
